There are also numerous other ski hills within a couple hours of Radium.
Banff offers the world class Sunshine ski resort, Mount Norquay, Lake Louise
is close by, Kimberly is a very interesting Bavarian attraction with skiing
& charm, and Fernie also close offers some surprising challenges.
Kicking Horse is the second highest ski mountain in Canada. Voted #1
for powder, and is only 100 km north west of Radium.
The new resort of Kicking Horse near Golden in British Columbia has attracted
a massive amount of attention and looks set to be a major addition to the Canadian
ski scene. New lifts and the excellent Eagle's Eye mountaintop restaurant, Canada's
highest with stunning views of the Rockies, have helped transform the old Whitetooth
ski area into the first four season mountain resort to open in the Canadian Rockies in
25 years. A large ski area and the second highest vertical in Canada will mean that
within the next few years Kicking Horse will become one of the country's top resorts.
However, there is currently little on-mountain accommodation and no village at all.
