We are on the “Warmer Side of the Rockies” through the Sinclair Gate at Radium Hot
Springs. We golf sooner, we golf later, we swim longer, and we ski our legs out during the winter. The boating is spectacular and the fishing is superb. The snow mobile and snow shoe trails in the winter and the five excellent ski hills are within a 1 ˝ hour drive from Radium and Invermere and are within a stones throw of our numerous luxury vacation locations.
Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep are an integral part of Radium and have the right of way on our roads. Mule deer, black tail and white tail deer, moose and elk have all been seen in and around the village. Some times in the fall, a black bear might wander through just for a few ripe apples. Please keep your distance for your own safety but take all the pictures you can imagine.

Our Radium Chamber of Commerce has established the Head Bangers Tour in the fall. Lectures by wild life biologists, bus tours, hot pools and viewing the males mating rituals are some of the activities of this very popular Head Bangers Tour.
Our hot pools are world renown and administered by Parks Canada. They are big, they are heated down in the bowels of the earth and with a “cool” pool for diving, swimming laps and playing in the shallow or deep end. It doesn’t come any better than this area. |
Restaurants are for families and fine dining and for all age groups and are scattered through out the Columbia Valley. Fill your boots with exercise and kick back and relax on the sunset barbeque decks. Can you imagine this is all only a 3 hours drive from Calgary at a nice leisurely pace?
Watch the mountains grow and snows melt. Watch the snow fall on the deer and bears at the side of the road but do pull well over for viewing and pictures.
